The Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to challenging racial and economic injustice, ending mass incarceration, and protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society. They achieve this through a combination of legal advocacy, research, education, and memorialization efforts. EJI operates the Legacy Museum and the National Memorial for Peace and Justice, both located in Montgomery, Alabama.
